Rush's 2112 and Moving Pictures albums

2112 is the fourth studio album by the Canadian rock band, Rush. Released in 1976, the album features an eponymous seven-part suite written by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, with lyrics written by Neil Peart telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112. 2112 is one of the two Rush albums listed in the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, the other being Moving Pictures. Kingston Wall

Kingston Wall was a progressive/space rock group from Helsinki, Finland, originally formed in 1987. The group combined eastern themes and vivid psychedelia. They consisted of Petri Walli (guitars, lead vocals), Jukka Jylli (bass, backing vocals) and Sami Kuoppamäki (drums, percussion). Read more here.

Family

Family were an English rock band that formed in late 1966 and disbanded in October 1973. Their style has been characterised as progressive rock, although their sound often explored other genres, incorporating elements of styles such as folk, psychedelia, acid, jazz fusion and rock and roll. Read more here.

Kansas

Kansas is an American progressive rock band that became popular in the 1970s initially on album-oriented rock charts, and later with hit singles such as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind". They were from the beginning just an ordinary rock band, but were quickly transformed combining the musical complexities of British prog-rock with the soul and instrumentation of the American heartland. They became one of the biggest selling and most successful touring acts of the 1970s. Read more here. 

Uriah Heep

Uriah Heep are an English rock band formed in London in 1969 and are regarded as one of the seminal hard rock acts of the early 1970's. Along with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep has become one of the top bands in the early 70s and also people like to call these four bands "The Big 4" of hard rock. Uriah Heep's heavy prog distinctive features have always been massive keyboards sound, strong vocal harmonies and (in the early years) David Byron's operatic vocals. Read more here. 

Rush: Exit...Stage Left concert film 1981

Exit...Stage Left is a concert film released in 1982 on videocassette, laserdisc, and on DVD in 2007 by the Canadian band Rush. It documents a live concert performance by the band on their 1981 Moving Pictures tour. The concert footage was filmed March 27, 1981, at the Montreal Forum, in Montreal, Quebec.    Read more here. 

Hawkwind

Hawkwind are an English rock band with a history of more than 30 years and one of the earliest space rock groups. Their lyrics favour urban and science fiction themes. Formed in November 1969 by saxophone and flute player Nik Turner, guitarist Mick Slattery and singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Brock, Hawkwind have gone through many incarnations and styles of music. They practically created the genre of music that is called  psychedelic space rock. Read more here. 

Rush

Rush is a Canadian rock band formed in August 1968, in Toronto. The band is composed of bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist and backing vocalist Alex Lifeson, and drummer, percussionist and lyricist Neil Peart.  Over their careers, the members of Rush have been acknowledged as some of the most proficient players on their respective instruments. Rush's music style has changed over the years, beginning with blues-inspired hard rock on their first album, then encompassing progressive rock, and a period with heavy use of synthesizers. Cream

Cream were a 1960s British rock supergroup consisting of bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce, guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker. Their sound was characterised by a hybrid of blues rock, hard rock and psychedelic rock, combining the psychedelia-themed lyrics, Eric Clapton's blues guitar playing, Jack Bruce's voice and prominent bass playing and Ginger Baker's jazz-influenced drumming.The group's third album, Wheels of Fire, was the world's first platinum-selling double album. Cream are widely regarded as being the world's first successful supergroup. In their career, they sold over 15 million albums worldwide. Read more here.
