The Yes story (documentary)

This is a Classic Artists documentary on Yes' story from the beginning and the formation of the band in the late 60's through the 2000's and their 35th Anniversary triple compilation album and tour. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

The Beatles are not progressive in the true sense but, this record is more than rock: it contains the early psychedelic patterns and it also contains basic progressive elements that surely contributed to make the progressive rock style itself to emerge. Kansas

Kansas is an American progressive rock band that became popular in the 1970s initially on album-oriented rock charts, and later with hit singles such as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind". They were from the beginning just an ordinary rock band, but were quickly transformed combining the musical complexities of British prog-rock with the soul and instrumentation of the American heartland. They became one of the biggest selling and most successful touring acts of the 1970s. Read more here. 

Marillion

Marillion are an English rock band, formed in England, in 1979. They are known as the band that invented the "New Wave of Progressive Rock". Their recorded studio output since 1982 is composed of seventeen albums generally regarded in two distinct eras, delineated by the departure of original frontman Fish in late 1988, and the subsequent arrival of replacement Steve Hogarth in early 1989. Their original sound (with Fish on vocals) is best described as guitar and keyboard led progressive rock or neo-prog, and would be sometimes compared with Gabriel-era Genesis. Lead singer Fish was also often compared with Gabriel due to his early vocal style and theatrical stage performances. Read more here. 

Peter Gabriel

Peter Brian Gabriel (born 13 February 1950) is an English singer, musician, and songwriter who rose to fame as the lead vocalist and flautist of the progressive rock group Genesis. He is one of the most loved musicians in the prog scene. After leaving Genesis, Peter Gabriel went on to a successful solo career. His music has encompassed various styles ranging from progressive to pop rock and to world music. Read more here.

Steve Hackett

Stephen Richard Hackett is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist. He gained prominence as a member of the British progressive rock group Genesis which he joined in 1970 and left in 1977 to pursue a solo career.  His body of work has encompassed many styles, such as progressive rock, world music, classical and pop. Read more here.

Electric Light Orchestra

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) are a British rock group from Birmingham, England who released eleven studio albums between 1971 and 1986 and another album in 2001. ELO were formed to accommodate Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne's desire to create modern rock and pop songs with classical overtones. Read more here.
