Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding is an alternative singer/songwriter from London with an electro-pop style who emerged in 2009 as a blogosphere favorite. Born in Hereford, England, she grew up in Powys, Wales, and later moved to London. There she launched her career as an alternative singer/songwriter and befriended a number of electro producers, among them Starsmith and Frankmusik, who gave her songs an electro-pop twist. In 2009 Goulding emerged as a blogosphere favorite, as early tracks such as "Starry Eyed" and a cover of Sam Sparro's "Black & Gold" were posted on taste-making MP3 blogs such as Discodust. In short time Goulding herself was being praised in mainstream media publications such as guardian.co.uk and courted by record labels. She ultimately signed a major-label deal with Polydor Records and began making preparations to release her full-length album debut. In addition, she penned songs for Diana Vickers, Gabriella Climi, and others.
